Victoria: OPEN
Offshore applicants must be:
- Committed to living in Victoria.
- Have a valid Skills Assessment; and
- Meet the requirements outlined by the Department of Home Affairs.
New South Wales: OPEN
To be eligible;
- Meet all requirements set by Home Affairs.
- Be skilled in an occupation that is within an ANZSCO unit group on the NSW Skilled Nominated Skills List;
- Meet the minimum skilled work experience and point score for your unit group.
Subclass 190
Applicants must reside and have continuously done so offshore for a minimum of six months.
Subclass 491
Applicants must be residing or have continuously done so offshore for a minimum of three months.
Queensland: OPEN
Migration Queensland criteria require you to:
- Have a points-test result of:
- 80 or higher for Subclass 190 (unless specified), and
- 65 or higher for Subclass 491
- Have an occupation on the Queensland List (QSOL)
- Have Proficient English or higher (unless specified)
- Have a minimum of 3-years of post-study work experience (unless specified)
- Meet the Department of Home Affairs criteria.
Tasmania: 190 CLOSED, 491 OPEN
Overseas Applicant (Job Offer) Pathway (2022-23)
- You must have received a Tasmania formal job offer that is closely related to your nominated occupation.
- Your employer must have a well-established business that has been actively operating in Tasmania for at least the past 12 months.
- Your wages and conditions (including receiving market salary rate) must be no less favourable than an Australian citizen or PR holder
- There must be a genuine and ongoing need for your position and the capacity for the business to sustain your employment.
- You/dependents have not lived in another state/territory within the last 12 months
Overseas Applicant (OSOP) – Invitation Only Pathway
- Your occupation should be listed in the Overseas Skilled Occupation Profiles (OSOP) list and meet the occupation requirements.
- You must meet your occupation’s English requirement.
- You have access to sufficient financial assets to fund your migration
- you have to provide evidence there are at least 2 Tasmanian employers for at least 12 months interested in working with you.
- You must also personal research into advertised positions relevant to your nominated occupation and provide an employment statement as to how your skill match the role.
- You/dependants have not lived in another state/territory within the last 12 months
South Australia: OPEN
Skilled migrants currently residing offshore, who have submitted an EOI, may be selected by South Australia and invited to apply for state nomination.
South Australia will be assessing candidates on merit by the following factors, within their nominated occupation:
- Years and field of skilled employment
- English language ability
- EOI points
Northern Territory: OPEN for Subclass 491
Offshore applicants will generally only be offered a nomination for a subclass 491 visa.
Subclass 190 nominations will only be offered in exceptional circumstances, such as cases where the applicant has strong connections to the NT.
Some occupations are only eligible for a subclass 491 visa nomination.
Western Australia: OPEN
WA State nominations are issued via a ranking system, giving preference to applicants currently residing in WA, followed by those residing in Australia and then those residing overseas.
General Stream 1 requires you to:
- Meet the English Requirement.
- Have at least 1 year of work experience in Australia or overseas.
- Have a WA employment contract in your occupation for 12 months (for sc 190 visa)
- Show sufficient finances
General Stream 2 requires you to:
- Meet the English Requirement.
- Have an employment contract in your occupation from a WA Employer for 6 months (for SC 190 visa)
Australian Capital Territory: OPEN
You and any migrating dependents (except children enrolled at school in the ACT) must be:
- Living overseas
- Have not lived in Australia for the last year
- Meet the Department of Home Affairs requirement
- On the latest ACT Critical Skills List
- Committed to living in the ACT
- Meet other specific Subclass 190/491 nomination criteria.
