We are starting our 2021 blog updates with news from the Victorian State Government regarding the Skilled Visa Nomination Program, (subclass 190 & 491) reopening as of Tuesday, Jan 5th. This is exciting news as it heralds a hopeful return to a more sustainable migration program for 2021.
The program originally commenced on September 8th, 2020, for a period of 4 weeks, concluding on October 5th, 2020. The re-opening has arisen from the State Government’s efforts to initiate an economic recovery plan, to help begin to overcome the challenges resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic.
This initiative was devised by the State to seek those who will contribute to Victoria’s recovery and will involve a selective nomination process to target applicants whose skills and experience comply with the selection criteria imposed by the Victorian Government. Numbers are limited.

It should be noted that due to the limited nomination places available, the ability to meet the criteria does not guarantee an applicant’s selection, nor does submitting an expression of interest constitute an application for a skilled nominated visa. For this reason, we strongly recommend anyone who is considering applying, contact our office to discuss your application and eligibility.
If you or someone you know believes they may be eligible to apply for the Skilled Visa Nomination Program (subclass 190 & 491), now is the time to contact our office on: +61 3 9654 8611 or contact us HERE
